Three Football Players Transitioning Positions, One Coach Steps Away
Multiple football programs have announced changes to their rosters and staff, including the Texas Longhorns, Florida Gators, and UTSA Roadrunners.
Texas Longhorns
Texas Longhorns defensive tackle T'Vondre Sweat is moving to offensive line this spring. Sweat, a former four-star recruit, has played defensive tackle for the Longhorns since 2021. He has appeared in 13 games, recording 13 tackles.
The Longhorns are also adding running back AJ Rose to their roster. Rose, a former four-star recruit, played for the Oklahoma Sooners from 2020-2022. He rushed for 435 yards and five touchdowns in his three seasons with the Sooners.
Florida Gators
Florida Gators wide receiver Xzavier Henderson is moving to safety this spring. Henderson, a former five-star recruit, has played wide receiver for the Gators since 2021. He has appeared in 14 games, recording 12 catches for 175 yards.
The Gators are also losing defensive coordinator Patrick Toney. Toney, who was hired by Florida in 2022, is leaving to become the defensive coordinator at Arizona State.
UTSA Roadrunners
UTSA Roadrunners running back Brenden Brady is moving to linebacker this spring. Brady, a former three-star recruit, has played running back for the Roadrunners since 2021. He has appeared in 13 games, rushing for 337 yards and three touchdowns.
The Roadrunners are also adding defensive back Rashad Wisdom to their roster. Wisdom, a former four-star recruit, played for the Oklahoma Sooners from 2020-2022. He appeared in 26 games, recording 22 tackles and two interceptions.
