Six MIT Students Take on Blackjack in '21'

Inspired by Real-Life Experience

In the upcoming film "21," six MIT students are lured into the world of blackjack by a charismatic professor and a seductive teammate. Inspired by real events, the film follows the students as they learn to master the game and use their skills to win millions at Las Vegas casinos.

The MIT Blackjack Team

The real-life MIT Blackjack Team, led by Bill Kaplan, operated in the 1990s and early 2000s. The team used a variety of techniques, including card counting and team play, to gain an advantage over the casinos. While the team was eventually disbanded, their story continues to fascinate people around the world.

The Film Adaptation

The film adaptation of "21" stars Kevin Spacey as the professor, Laurence Fishburne as the casino security chief, and Jim Sturgess as one of the students. The film is directed by Robert Luketic ("Legally Blonde") and written by Peter Steinfeld ("Romeo + Juliet").

The Stakes Are High

As the students become more successful, they also become more reckless. They start to make big bets and take on more risk. The stakes quickly rise, and the consequences of their actions could be devastating.
