How Old Is Laura Richardson Daughter

**Meet a Mom: Lieutenant General Laura Richardson** We are proud to feature Lieutenant General Laura Richardson, Commander of United States Southern Command, as our "Meet a Mom" for this week. General Richardson, née Strickland, born on December 11, 1963, is a four-star general in the United States Army. She is a highly accomplished officer with a distinguished career. General Richardson and her husband, Lieutenant General (Retired) Jim Richardson, are both decorated Army officers. When they received orders to deploy to Iraq, they faced the challenge of finding childcare for their daughter, Lauren, who had just entered pre-K. Despite the difficulties, General Richardson's determination and resilience have been an inspiration to many. She has successfully balanced her military career with her responsibilities as a mother. In a recent interview, General Richardson shared her experience as a working mother in the military. "It's not easy to be a mom in uniform, but it's also incredibly rewarding," she said. "I'm grateful for the opportunity to serve my country and to be a role model for my daughter." General Richardson's daughter, Lauren, is now a young woman who has witnessed her mother's accomplishments firsthand. Lauren proudly pinned on her mother's new rank during her promotion ceremony at Joint Base Myer on November 13, 2019. We are honored to recognize Lieutenant General Laura Richardson as our "Meet a Mom" of the week. Her dedication to her country, her family, and her daughter is truly inspiring.
